The MAA aims to assist members of the Association in their last two years at school and first four years after leaving school with a programme of activity that will help them identify and set out on their chosen career path.
The Career Pathway Programme will provide access to mentors, who can give advice and support in their areas of expertise, careers talks from alumni working in a wide variety of sectors, and the opportunity to apply for a bursary to assist in a business start-up. In addition, we will aim to provide help in finding work experience placements for current sixth form pupils at the School.
Our alumni are renowned for their ability to succeed in a diverse range of careers. Notable former pupils include Alastair Bruce, Professor, Colonel and Royal, Ceremonial & National Events Commentator for Sky News; Rupert Evans, Stage, film and TV actor; Alexander Faludy, former child prodigy and youngest Cambridge undergraduate since 1773; Jonathan Freeman-Attwood, Principal of the Royal Academy of Music; Anthony Geffen, BAFTA-winning documentary filmmaker; Baron Nash, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Schools; and Ray Tarantino, rock singer-songwriter.
With nearly 4,000 MA alumni worldwide, this is a fantastic opportunity to link up our community and to support the next generation in its achievements. We would like to encourage members to participate in the Programme as mentors, to give a talk, or provide work experience to pupils and recent graduates – the more members we have supporting the Pathway, the greater the support we can give to each other.
If you would like further information or to discuss being involved in the Pathway Programme, please contact the MAA Manager.
